My Pal & Me – Ages 20 months to 3

This class is open to all children ages 20 months to 3 years of age and their parent. Very young children explore different ways to move their bodies. Motor skills development is the focus of this class, using age appropriate equipment. Our goals are improved listening skills; follow simple patterning and basic directions, social interaction, movement through exploration and music-oriented exercise. 45 minute class time.
Pre-Kinder Monkeys – Ages 2-4

This class is designed for a younger group focusing on creative movement, following directions, and learning to be in a structured environment. Basic gymnastics skills are incorporated into this 45-minute class. Placement is based on individual maturity and skill level.
Kinder Monkeys – Ages 3 – 5

Designed to instruct young children basic beginner skills and fundamentals of movement developing fine and gross motor skills as well as self-confidence. Introductory skills will be taught such as forward rolls, 2 feet jumps for vault, walking the low beam, and swinging on the bars.
Beginner & Intermediate Artistic - Ages 5 & up
Gymnastics is a progressive sport. Artistic gymnastics is taught from the most basic skills to intermediate level skills before progressing towards advanced level skills. LKNGA follows USAG Junior Olympic guidelines regarding level advancement. Developmental skills are taught on all Olympic events; vault, uneven bars, beam, and floor. Athletes are learning levels one through four from the USAG Junior Olympic program in the beginner and intermediate level artistic classes. . There are prerequisites for each level, which instructors will evaluate for advancement
Starter Monkeys – Ages 5 & up

Level one skills will be introduced such as backward rolls and cartwheels on floor, strength conditioning on bars, balance techniques on beam, and beginner vault skills. Prerequisites: No experience necessary.
Swinging Monkeys I – Ages 5 & up

Skills at this level include those in Starter Monkeys, in addition to handstand roll downs and bridge kickovers on floor, pullovers and back hip circles on bars, and level two skills on beam and vault. Prerequisites: All rolls, cartwheel, handstand on floor, lightly spotted pullover on bars, 2 feet to stand on Resi Mat, and Level 1 Mount on Beam.
Swinging Monkeys II – Ages 5 & up

For the advanced beginner gymnast that has mastered Starter and Swinging 1 skills and progressing to round offs and back walkovers on the floor, handstands on beam, and Level 4 Vault. Prerequisites: Handstand skills and bridge kickovers on floor, Level 4 Mount on Beam, Level 2 Vault, and Casts and lightly spotted back hip circles on Bars.
Swinging Monkeys III – Ages 5 & up

Intermediate skill levels include back roll extensions, front walkovers, and back handsprings on floor, cartwheels on beam, and mill circles on bars. Prerequisites: Back walkover and round off on floor, lightly spotted handstand on beam, back hip circle and single leg shoot on bars, and Level 4 Vault.
Advanced Artistic Gymnastics
Advanced level classes offer the opportunity to learn levels four through ten in the USAG Junior Olympic program. It is a prerequisite for the athlete to have mastered beginner and intermediate skills to enroll in the advanced level classes. At this level, athletes may be considered for Team. There are prerequisites for each level, which instructors will evaluate for advancement
Kip Monkeys I- Ages 6 & up

Advanced skill level includes front tucks, back handspring series on floor, front hip circles on bars, and front handsprings on vault. (Also known as Advanced Artistic)
Artistic Gymnastics Team and Pre-Team
Pre Team and the Artistic Team are available to athletes by Program Director invitation only. This disciplined sport takes strength, dedication, and focus. This year round commitment requires at least 4 hours of practice per week and at least 4 competitions. Team tuition is reflective of practice schedule and competitions incur meet fees and coaches fees.
Tumbling Classes
All tumbling classes require extensive strength conditioning and focuses on floor skills only. Also classes may use the tumble-trak, trampoline, vault, bars, and rope for the advancement of these floor skills.
Tumbling Beg/Int/Adv

Teaches developmental skills on floor exercise and tumble trak with emphasis on tumbling. As with artistic gymnastics, tumbling is a progressive sport. Tumbling is performed on a variety of different mats and begins with a simple roll, progressing to flips and twists in the air. There are prerequisites for each individual tumbling level, which instructors will evaluate for advancement.

Lightning Bolts- Ages 3-5

Non-competitive pre-team for the LKN lightning All-Stars. Designed to continue the development of the basic components of cheerleading with the intent of competition in mind focusing on motion placement, technique, jump preparation and tumbling. Will participate in exhibitions with the Lightning Storm Team.Cheers, chants, and a dance will be taught in this one-hour class.
Lightning Strikes- Ages 5-9
$90.00/month - 2 hour practice
Non-competitive pre-team for the LKN lightning All-Stars. Designed to continue the development of the basic components of cheerleading with the intent of competition in mind focusing on motion placement, technique, jump preparation and tumbling. Will participate in exhibitions with the Lightning Storm Team.
All-Star Team: Lightning Storm- Ages 10 & up
This is a competitive All-Star cheer team. Cheerleaders will learn and compete routines displaying advanced tumbling, stunting, and dances. The team will compete in regional and national competitions and will practice a minimum of four hours per week. Tuition is reflective of practice schedule and competitions incur meet fees and coaches fees.
Adult Fitnastics/Pilates/Cardio Dance
A fitness class for adults that focuses on stretching, balance, strength, and cardio. During the 1-hour class students will exercise all major muscle groups through isometrics, resistance training, and fitness equipment.
Dance
Ballet- Ages 3 & up-
The study of ballet promotes the development of grace, poise and discipline even from the earliest ages. The Cecchetti method will be studied including technique and terminology. Lyrical ballet will be included in Level III classes.
Tap- Ages 3 & up-
Tap is a great way for students to learn musicality and rhythm. These classes will begin with basic tap technique and terminology and develop into specific tap styles such as rhythm, traditional, Broadway and clogging.
Jazz- Ages 3 & up-
This class will teach floor combinations, turns and jumps. Music selection will be very vast to encompass the many styles that make up the jazz discipline. Hip-Hop will be included at Level III.
Hip-Hop- Ages 8 & up-
Contemporary (Modern)- Ages 8 & up-
This class will teach floor tumbling from basic rolls to handsprings. Props will be included to demonstrate student's tricks and abilities. The spring performance will be a fully choreographed routine combining jazz movements and tumbling.
Kung Fu
2x wk- $55.00/month *Tuition will be raised to $60 per month beginning 1/1/09.*
Kung Fu teaches an endless variety of strikes, kicks, locks, ground techniques, traditional Chinese weapons, pressure points, inner strength and meditation. Classes are taught in a traditional manner, where students respect the system and the instructor. This structured discipline style of learning provides a unique atmosphere not found in most schools today. Tuition is reflective of practice schedule and competitions incur meet fees and coaches fees. Students receive training in traditional empty hand and weapon forms, self-defense, tournament competition, and full contact fighting. Kung Fu stresses individual development. Improvement is stressed through friendly competition rather than a must win attitude. Kung Fu increases physical fitness, speed, and coordination, but above all it builds strong character.
